Outdoor gear shotNo, women aren't just small men - something that it took gear manufacturers a while to figure out.  They seem to be getting there now, however, and here are some resources to point you towards the good stuff and where you can buy it.

If you have a fantastic bit of gear you'd like to share, or you'd like your company mentioned on this page, please contact GO! Girls Outdoors.

Gear Stores

Outdoor Divas is a gear store that stocks exclusively women's outdoor gear.  There are outlets in Boulder and Denver, Colorado, but thanks to the magic of the internet, you can also shop online!  They also have a very informative blog at their website where you can get information about outdoor gear from experts in the field.

Women's Adventure Magazine also based in Boulder, Colorado, also have an online gear store and lots of information on their website.

Gear for Girls - a UK based, women's outdoor gear store.  They also have information and an online store.

Women's Outdoor Gear Manufacturers

Hive Swimwear is an Australian based company that produces 'swimwear that sticks' - that is, it doesn't pop off in the surf!  The GO! Girls Outdoors profile is coming soon.

Bitch Boards - US based company making snowboards for women.

And, of course, most outdoor gear manufacturers have a women's line these days - just do a search in Google and see what you can find.

The Body Shop do a great range of skin care products that live up to the trials and tribulations we put our skin through in the great outdoors.  Reviewed on GO! Girls Outdoors.

Gear Reviews

A little bit of equipment envy tells the story of a home-made toileting device for sea kayaking (not the best idea, as it turns out).

The Diva Cup is reviewed in an article on the GO! Girls Outdoors forum.

The Discovery Trekking Towel is a great little towel for backpacking, hiking, swimming, mopping out the tent, etc, etc.

For better toileting, try the GoGirl, reviewed recently in a very popular article.
